We have been getting a lot of great questions lately, so we thought we'd compile a simple FAQ for those of you who are curious about our dog tags!
So...what exactly are you selling?
Great question and by far the most important! Our products are customized aluminum dog tags that attach directly to your dog’s collar.
Why would I want my dog’s ID tag to attach directly to their collar?
Traditional dog tags jingle, dangle, swing and bounce around all day. While some dogs don’t seem to mind, others can find the constant movement and noise irritating. And if you’ve ever been woken up in the middle of the night by tags clanking against a metal water bowl, you know they can be a little irritating for humans too!
Our design also eliminates the need for a split ring which is the small metal ring that can bend, break or come loose over time. When that happens, tags can get lost, leaving your dog without identification when they need it most.
Because our tags sit securely against the collar, there’s nothing rubbing against the engraved surface except fur. This helps keep the engraving clear and readable for years to come.
What are some signs that my dog is irritated by traditional dog tags?
Every dog is different, but some common signs include:
- Shaking their head frequently when their collar is on
- Scratching at their neck or collar
- Chewing or pawing at their tags
- Seeming distracted by the movement or noise around their collar
*These behaviors could also have other causes as well, some of which include medical causes that should be assessed by a veterinarian.
What are some signs that I may be irritated by my dog’s traditional dog tags?
You might be a good candidate to buy your dog one of our tags if you’ve ever:
- Enjoyed a peaceful walk with your dog only to hear the jingle, jingle, jingle the entire time.
- Been woken up by your dog’s tags clanking against a water bowl in the middle of the night.
- Heard the constant jingling every time your dog gets up, stretches, or shakes.
- Replaced lost tags because a split ring failed.
- Had to replace tags because the engraving became worn down and difficult to read.
Sometimes it’s the little things that make life with our dogs a bit more enjoyable, and a little more quiet.
Will these work on all collars?
Our tags are designed to fit most nylon dog collars. Some customers have also successfully used them on certain thinner Biothane collars as well.

I like the traditional style dog tag and my dog doesn’t seem bothered by it.
That’s perfectly okay! Every dog (and dog parent) is different.
Our tags don’t have to replace your existing ID tag. Many customers choose to personalize our tags with a fun nickname, a favorite saying, or a special message, and use them as an additional accessory on their dog’s collar.
My dog doesn’t wear a collar.
No problem! Our tags can also be attached to harnesses, leashes, and other gear.
They’re a great way to keep contact information with your dog’s belongings and can help prevent mix ups at daycare, training classes, or the dog park.
Do you sell collars?
Not at this time.
You’ll see collars featured in many of our photos simply because they’re the easiest way to show our tags in use. Since our tags attach differently than traditional tags, we want customers to be able to clearly see how they work before ordering.
